Isa Koi Farm (Isa Hajime) is renowed for producing high quality Showa. He has produced some of the finest Showas in the world to date. It is a well know fact that many of his Showas have got many top honors at the All Japan National Koi shows. Isa Showa originated from Dainichi bloodline characterized by their massive conformation, round chubby face, reflective milky white skin, bright color pigmentation that can attain jumbo size over 85cm (34") long. Isa Showas are traditionally late bloomers as they begin to blossom at 6 years of age and older.
Genki Nishikigoi acquired this Kinda Showa when she was 3 years old from Isa's tategoi pond. She was then entrusted to Isa's care for another 3 seasons growing out in their best mud pond. She is now 83cm (33") still with plenty of room for growth as her progression was what we've expected. After many years of developing a good relationship, with luck and timing together with Mr. Shigesada assistance, we were able to acquire this magnificent koi.
Most excellent attribute lies in her conformation. Starting with a firm bone structure along with a matching full round body shape. High shoulder, long strong back bone, wide tall body and a thick odome make an imposing look. Her white cheeks, round face along a big round head helps to make her look very attractive. Body has good flow with smooth curvature adds to a perfect body line along with even fins to make her a very balanced Showa.
Another great attribute lies in her superb skin quality that is softly textured and brilliant color pigmentation. The skin filiment "float" obsorbing and reflecting light makes her skin pop creating a youthful look. Her soft bright uniform beni is consistent throughout. Her fukurin creates a beautiful netting with each embedded scale. Neatly kamisori kiwa whose sashi with sharp edges creates a clean appearance. Emerged sumi are shinny while submerged sumi are deep within her skin. Sumi quality has good depth and density. All thee colors are developing at the same pace.
Step pattern Showa coupled with tsubo sumi wrap are extremely hard to come by. The three step hi plate and tsubo sumi are refined and located in key positions ove her body, highlighting her snow white shoulder "focal" point. A striking menware that resemble a dragon with balanced motoguro on both pecs.
High quality jumbo Showa as this are extremely difficult to achieve as they grow to jumbo. In and outside of Japan, Showa of such quality and size are few in number. This Isa Showa has all these excellent attributes inherited from the Dainichi bloodline. She has all the ingredients of a future champion.
